Shared workstations.
Individual accountability.
CYRA brings individual sign-in and attributable access records to shared Windows workstations in labs and instrument environments. Its transparent lock protects interaction while the applications underneath keep running, helping teams manage access without ending the shared Windows session.
Built for shared lab workstations, instrument PCs and operator handovers.

Our story
CYRA began with a practical challenge in laboratory IT: people need to share instrument workstations, while security and quality teams need to understand who used them. Ending a Windows session between operators can disrupt the applications those workstations support.
We are building CYRA around that reality. Individual authentication sits alongside the shared Windows session, a transparent lock controls interaction, and access records help connect workstation use to a named person. The aim is straightforward: clearer accountability with respect for the scientific workflow.
Developed by ABRA Solutions AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, CYRA brings a laboratory-focused approach to operational technology security. Our current work centres on shared workstation access and logging, with richer session context and an electronic logbook in development.

Start with individual access and a clear record of workstation use. CYRA is developing the next layer of session context to support evidence review across shared lab environments.
CYRA Access.
Current foundationIndividual identity at the shared workstation.
- Individual authentication within a shared Windows session
- Transparent lock that keeps underlying applications running
- Centrally managed access policies and operator handovers
CYRA Log.
Basic logging availableAccess records linked to the individual.
- Authentication and access events linked to users and devices
- Time-stamped records for investigation and review
- Full electronic logbook in development with CYRA Trace
CYRA Trace.
In developmentPlanned session context for operational data.
- Designed to connect user, device and session metadata
- Planned links between sessions and data activity
- Metadata capture designed to exclude keystrokes and screen content
Available features depend on the evaluated build and deployment configuration. The full electronic logbook and CYRA Trace are in development; delivery dates will be confirmed separately.
Discuss your use caseHow CYRA works
CYRA adds an individual authentication layer to a shared Windows workstation. The operator signs in to CYRA, the instrument application keeps its existing Windows session, and access events can be reviewed against the individual.
-
01
Configure the workstation
During implementation, Windows auto logon is configured for the shared account. Lab users then authenticate to CYRA individually, without handling the shared Windows account or its password.
-
02
Authenticate the operator
The operator uses a personal PIN, registered badge or Microsoft Entra ID credentials, according to the methods supported and configured for the deployment. CYRA applies the relevant access policy.
-
03
Work and hand over
The transparent lock controls workstation interaction while underlying applications continue running. When the workstation is locked again, the next operator authenticates individually to continue work in the same Windows session.
-
04
Review access records
Authorised administrators review recorded access events with user, device and time information. The full electronic logbook and richer session metadata are being developed through Log and Trace.
We confirm application compatibility, authentication methods, network connectivity, offline policies and handover behaviour as part of evaluation planning.
